ST1B-100 Dapper 1200 Troubleshooting

Problem Possible reasons  Solutions
The steamer is plugged in but not heating Power supply issue Check that the plug is properly inserted into the socket, or try plugging the steamer into a different socket.
Not enough steam or no steam is coming out.
  1. The steamer is not fully heated.
  2. There is not enough water in the water tank.
  3. The water pump has not been primed.
  1. Always allow the steamer to preheat for at least 35 seconds, or until the indicator light stays solid.
  2. Fill the water tank as described in the ‘Filling the water tank’ section.
  3. After preheating, prime the water pump by holding the steam trigger until steam forms to ensure enough water is in the boiler.
Discoloured water is coming through the steam holes and staining the fabric.
  1. Residue build-up in the water tank or on the plate.
  2. Perfumed or scented additives have been used.
  1. Empty the water tank after each use.
  2. Regularly clean the steamer and avoid using perfumed or scented water additives.
The steamer is leaking or spitting.
  1. The steamer is not hot enough.
  2. Water tank is running low.
  1. Allow the steamer to heat for about 35 seconds before use.
  2. Fill the water tank as described in the ‘Filling the water tank’ section.

 

Tips and tricks

  • Always read garment care label instructions.
  • Always test garments by steaming a small hidden area to make sure the garment responds well to steam.
  • When using the steamer on garments with buttons, like shirts or jackets, close the first button before steaming.
  • After steaming, allow clothing to cool for about 5 minutes before wearing to set the press and prevent new wrinkles.
  • Stretch the sides of the garment while steaming.
