Wilfa, as a Norwegian company, has a strong focus on the environment and reducing our environmental impact. We have therefore developed our own environmental management system where we measure our environmental impact. Wilfa has been an approved Eco-Lighthouse company since 2019 and will be certified according to ISO14001 environmental certification during 2020.
We have also invested in CO2 quotas since 2018 so that we are climate-neutral in all areas of passenger transport, freight of goods, offices, etc.
Many of Wilfa's products currently use FSC-approved cardboard and paper, and our goal is to switch all our products to this by 2020. FSC ensures that we use paper produced in a sustainable way. We have also removed polystyrene from many of our products and replaced it with more environmentally friendly alternatives. We are also working to change plastic packaging from harmful plastics such as polyethylene to more environmentally friendly and compostable plastics such as PLA and PHA.
In addition, we naturally follow both national and international requirements so that we do not have harmful and banned substances in our products and thus follow the requirements described in various directives such as ROHS, REACH, food contact directives, etc. Wilfa is also committed to ethics and all employees and suppliers must follow our Code of Business Ethics.
