What is more delicious when the weather is warm and beautiful than an ice-cold Frappuccino!
Frappuccino - which is the name of the famous iced coffee from Starbucks - you can make at home too. The prerequisite is that you have a good blender that can crush ice cubes. Because a real Frappuccino should be really thick, cold and slush-like because of all the crushed ice!
Kristine, from Det sötte liv, likes Mocha Frappuccino. In true American style, her Mocha Frappuccino is topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce!
Image and recipe from The sweet life.
(recipe for 1 large glass)
- 1 dl cold espresso
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 dl milk
- 2 tbsp chocolate sauce
- 2 dl ice cubes
- Whipped cream (sweetened with a little vanilla sugar)
- Chocolate sauce
How to do it
-
Use a Wilfa blender (remember that it must be powerful enough to crush ice cubes, see tips).
-
Add cold espresso (regular strong coffee also works well).
-
Add milk.
-
And then sugar.
-
And Chocolate Sauce
-
Add lots of ice cubes!! And process the ice cubes until they are completely crushed and the iced coffee is slush-like.
-
Pour the iced coffee into a glass and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
Hint!
You can use the ratio between coffee, sugar and milk according to what you like best. The amounts specified give iced coffee that is suitably strong and sweet.
Note that the iced coffee will be fuller and get thicker milk foam if you use whole milk, but it is also very good to make a Frappuccino with skimmed milk or skimmed milk. Due to the finely crushed ice, the iced coffee will still be thick.
Remember that you must use a powerful blender that can crush ice cubes into fine slush. Kristine has used the Wilfa Powerfuel XL, which is wonderfully strong and yet handy blender.
