Make a tasteful snack platter with edamame beans, halloumi fries and bacon-wrapped dates - all in the same airfryer: Dual Zone 2x5,5L.
For this dish, everything is prepared and set aside for airfrying individually. The preparations can be done earlier in the day or the night before you plan to serve the snacks. The edamame beans are cooked straight from the freezer.
When serving, fill the airfryer with halloumi and bacon-wrapped dates in one zone, and edamame beans in the other zone. Set the machine to the correct time and temperature for each zone and use the "sync" function so that everything finishes cooking at the same time.
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serves about 2 people.
Edamame beans with teriyaki
- 250 g frozen edamame beans in pods
Sauce:
- 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Juice of 0.25 lime
Topping:
- 1 spring onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
Instructions:
Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl. Place the frozen edamame beans directly in the airfryer. Airfry at 180°C (356°F) for 6 minutes. Note that all the food is placed in the airfryer simultaneously if you're making the entire dish. While the food is airfrying, finely chop the spring onion and coriander.
Halloumi Fries with Ajvar Dip
- 1 halloumi (200 g)
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 egg
- 2 dl panko (dried breadcrumbs)
Instructions:
Cut the halloumi into thick sticks. Crack the egg into a small jar with a lid, such as a small jam jar. Screw on the lid and shake the egg well until it is a smooth mixture. Pour the egg into a shallow, wide container. Place the flour and panko/breadcrumbs in separate shallow, wide containers.
To bread the halloumi, first coat the cheese sticks in flour, shaking off any excess so that only a thin, even layer of flour remains. Then, dip them in the egg, and finally coat them in panko. Bread all the cheese sticks and place them on a plate until you're ready to cook them. Airfry at 200°C (392°F) for 11 minutes.
Tip: Pre-breaded halloumi can also be frozen in an airtight container. Then, you'll always have a snack ready if you get unexpected guests! Just cook straight from frozen.
Ajvar Dip:
- 3 tbsp plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp ajvar
Mix together in a bowl. Serve as a dip for the halloumi fries.
Bacon-wrapped dates with balsamic glaze
- 6 dried dates
- 3 slices of bacon
- Balsamic glaze from a bottle
Instructions:
Remove the pit from the dates by making a small cut and popping it out. Cut the bacon slices in half. Wrap each date with a piece of bacon. Airfry at 200°C (392°F) for 11 minutes.
Airfrying the entire snack platter
Set one zone to 200°C (392°F) for 11 minutes, and the other zone to 180°C (356°F) for 6 minutes. Use the sync function so that both zones finish at the same time and start the machine to preheat. Once the airfryer is ready, place the dates and halloumi in the drawer set to 200°C (392°F), and the edamame beans in the drawer set to 180°C (356°F). Insert the drawer and let the airfryer do the rest.
In the meantime, you can mix up the dressings, chop the toppings, and maybe even make a fresh salad to serve alongside?
Enjoy!
