Wilfa is proud to be a certified environmental lighthouse. The Miljøfyrtårn approval shows that we meet the environmental requirements for energy use, waste, transport, purchasing and the working environment set by the Miljøfyrtårn foundation.
Wilfa, as a Norwegian company, has a strong focus on the environment and reducing our environmental impact. We have therefore developed a separate environmental management system where we measure our environmental impact. Wilfa has been an approved environmental lighthouse company since 2019 and will be certified according to ISO14001 environmental certification during 2020.
We have also invested in CO2 quotas since 2018 so that we are climate neutral in everything within passenger transport, shipping of goods, office etc.
Many of Wilfa's products today use FSC-approved cardboard and paper, and our goal is that by 2020 we will have switched all our products to this. FSC ensures that we use paper produced in a sustainable way. In many of the products, we have also removed Styrofoam and replaced it with more environmentally friendly alternatives. Work is also underway to change plastic packaging from harmful plastics such as Polyethylene to more environmentally friendly and compostable plastic types such as PLA and PHA.
In addition, of course, we follow both national and international requirements so that we do not have harmful and prohibited substances in our products and thus follow requirements as described in various directives such as ROHS, REACH, food contact directives etc. Wilfa is also concerned with ethics and all employees and suppliers must follow our business ethics guidelines.
