8 tips for the best waffles
Create crispy, fluffy, and delicious waffles every time! Experiment with new waffle recipes, and remember—using a cleaning waffle keeps your waffle iron in top condition for the best results.
1. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside
The best waffles come from a waffle iron with built-in air vents that allow excess steam to escape. This results in waffles that are crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside.
2. Even cooking for the best results
A waffle iron that distributes heat evenly is essential for making perfect waffles. The design plays a big role in this. Our waffle irons feature conically shaped plates and air vents. Together, these ensure that the waffle batter spreads evenly and excess air escapes—no need to manually spread it with a ladle!
3. Let the batter rest
Allowing the waffle batter to sit for 15-30 minutes results in fluffier waffles with better texture.

4. Avoid thin waffle batter
Avoid using thin waffle batter, especially when making wholemeal waffles or adding oats. A thin batter can cause waffles to stick to the waffle iron and result in uneven cooking.
5. Keep Your Waffles Crispy
For crispy waffles, place them individually on a cooling rack instead of stacking them. Want extra crispness? Add a splash of sparkling water to your waffle batter!
6. Make waffle batter in a blender
Using a blender ensures a smooth, lump-free waffle batter, especially when making wholemeal waffles or vegetable-based waffle recipes.
7. Protect Your Waffle Iron
Always use wooden or plastic utensils to avoid damaging the non-stick coating of your waffle iron. This keeps your waffle maker in top shape for perfect waffles every time.
8. Wholemeal waffles
Wholemeal waffles tend to stick more, so grease the waffle iron every second or third waffle to prevent this and ensure easy removal.
