FAQ
How do I get crispy waffles?
Use a waffle maker with steam vents, and don’t stack waffles after baking. Let them cool on a rack for a crisp finish.
Why do waffles bake unevenly?
Uneven batter distribution is a common reason. Conical plates help batter spread more evenly across the plate for a more consistent result. In addition, use a ladle adjusted to the perfect amount of batter for your waffle maker.
Do I need to add butter to the plates?
With a good non-stick coating you often don’t need extra fat for release. If it’s your first time using the waffle maker, many people still prefer a very light grease in the batter or on the plates.
How do I choose browning level?
Use the thermostat. Lower heat gives lighter waffles, higher heat gives a deeper golden and crisp finish.
