Almond butter is super easy to make in the blender. you don't need many ingredients, add a little flavor to what you like best.
You need
- 300 g almonds
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon / cardamom
- Optional sweetener (honey, sugar)
- Feel free to add vanilla sugar.
How to do it
- Roast the nuts on a baking tray with baking paper at 200 degrees for about 8 minutes. until golden.
- Cool.
- Put the almonds in the blender.
- Drive at low speed to begin with to mix the ingredients, before possibly increasing the speed. If you use too high a speed, the almonds can stick to the wall of the jug. Otherwise, use a spatula to push the ingredients down so that the knives can grab the almonds again. The almonds are first ground, then they start to release the fat and get a thick consistency, after a little while it becomes more fluid and completely smooth.
- Blend until the almond butter has a creamy consistency. It depends on which blender you use, but about 5 min +/-.
- Add salt and your choice of sweetener. Blend it in well and taste to see if more salt/sweetening should be added.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl, possibly a tight glass for storage. It keeps well for weeks in the fridge.
