Orange waffles with sour cream

Orange waffles with sour cream

You get a taste of Easter with these delicious waffles made with orange juice and sour cream!

The orange waffles taste great on their own, feel free to add a little sprinkle of sugar. It is recommended to serve warm with orange marmalade and a dollop of sour cream.

This is what you need

  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 dl sugar
  • 3 dl orange juice
  • 3 dl sour cream
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • grated peel of 1 orange
  • 150 g butter
  • 300 g wheat flour

    How to do it

    1. Melt butter and cool.

    2. Whisk together eggs, sugar, juice and sour cream.

    3. Mix in baking powder, baking soda and grated orange peel.

    4. Stir in the melted butter and the wheat flour. Feel free to use a steel whisk (balloon whisk) which means that the milk lumps are removed quickly and effectively.

    5. Fry the waffles on medium heat until golden.

    6. Served warm.

    Tip from Kristine:

I use light cream in these waffles, and think it gives the right consistency to the waffle batter. Here I have used the Bell waffle iron from Wilfa, which bakes big, delicious waffles. The beauty of this waffle iron is that it emits a small beep when the waffles are ready, so that all the waffles are properly cooked.
