Make a tasty snack platter with edamame beans, halloumi fries and bacon-wrapped dates – all in the same air fryer: Dual Zone 2x5.5L.
Everything is prepared in advance and set aside for air frying – the preparations can be done earlier in the day or the night before. The edamame beans are cooked straight from the freezer. When serving, the halloumi and dates go in one zone and the edamame beans in the other. Set the correct time and temperature for each zone and use the “sync” function so everything is ready at the same time.
Preparation time: 30 minutes.
How to make the snack platter in the air fryer
-
Make the teriyaki sauce
Mix all the ingredients for the edamame sauce in a bowl. -
Prepare the breading
Cut the halloumi into thick sticks. Crack the egg into a small jar with a lid, such as a small jam jar, and shake well until smooth. Pour the egg into a shallow, wide dish, and put the flour and panko in two separate shallow dishes. -
Bread the halloumi
Coat the cheese sticks in flour and shake off the excess so only a thin, even layer remains. Dip them in the egg and finally coat them in panko. Place them on a plate until you are ready to cook them. -
Make the ajvar dip
Mix the yoghurt and ajvar in a bowl. -
Prepare the dates
Make a small cut in each date and pop out the stone. Cut the bacon slices in half and wrap a piece around each date. -
Set the air fryer
Set one zone to 200 °C for 11 minutes and the other to 180 °C for 6 minutes. Use the sync function so both zones finish at the same time, and start the air fryer to preheat. -
Air fry
When the air fryer is ready, place the dates and halloumi in the 200 °C drawer and the frozen edamame beans in the 180 °C drawer. Insert the drawers and let the air fryer do the rest. Meanwhile, finely chop the spring onion and coriander – and perhaps make a fresh salad to serve alongside. -
Serve
Toss the edamame beans in the teriyaki sauce and sprinkle with spring onion, sesame seeds and coriander. Serve the halloumi fries with the ajvar dip, and drizzle the dates with balsamic glaze.
Tips:
- Breaded halloumi can be frozen in an airtight container – then you always have a snack ready for unexpected guests. Cook straight from frozen.
