Spinach and Linseed smoothie

Spinach and Linseed smoothie

Make this good smoothie and get plenty of vitamin C and fiber at the same time. Important for both the immune system and digestion.

The advantage of smoothies is that you get all the fiber in the fruit.

This is what you need

  • 2 tbsp linseed
  • 2 small or
  • 1 large orange
  • 1 banana
  • 2 handfuls of spinach leaves (washed) or 2 "pillows" of frozen spinach
  • 3 rings of fresh pineapple (possibly frozen)
  • 1 - 1 1/2 liters of water, add more if you want it thinner.

See how to make it below.

This is how you do it

  1. Use fresh vegetables (or frozen).
  2. Part of the pineapple, use approx. half a pineapple.
  3. Peel it and remove only the skin (do not cut away the core).
  4. Peel the orange (recommended with a knife).
  5. Try to only remove the orange peel when you peel it and keep as much as possible of the white just below the peel.
  6. Peel the banana.
  7. Put everything in the blender
  8. Fill with water.
  9. Then put in the spinach.
  10. Add flaxseed to the mixture.
  11. Run the mixture in the blender at medium speed until the mixture is completely smooth.

Tips & Advice

Pineapple

  • All the insides of the pineapple can be used in a smoothie. You won't notice the hard core as it will blend into a completely smooth mass.

Orange

  • The white layer on the orange will help to create a creamy, good consistency in the smoothie.

Banana

  • Banana also makes the smoothie creamy at the same time as it contains a lot of potassium. One course a day can make a positive difference for those who struggle with high blood pressure.

Flaxseed

  • Flaxseed contains a lot of good fat and fiber. Few people get enough fiber in Norway, and it is important for the intestines. There are also very many of the nutrients that bind to the fibres, so they become a sort of conveyor belt.
