Get a taste of Easter with these delicious waffles made with orange juice and sour cream!
The orange waffles taste great on their own – try a light sprinkle of sugar. We recommend serving them warm with orange marmalade and a dollop of sour cream.
How to make orange waffles with sour cream
-
Melt the butter
Melt the butter and leave it to cool. -
Whisk the wet ingredients
Whisk together the eggs, sugar, orange juice and sour cream. -
Add raising agents and zest
Mix in the baking powder, baking soda and grated orange zest. -
Finish the batter
Stir in the melted butter and the wheat flour. A balloon whisk helps get rid of any flour lumps quickly and effectively. -
Cook
Cook the waffles on medium heat until golden. -
Serve
Serve warm.
Tips from Kristine:
- I use light sour cream in these waffles – it gives the batter just the right consistency.
- I used the Wilfa Bell waffle iron, which makes large, lovely waffles. It also gives a little beep when the waffles are ready, so every waffle is cooked just right.
